Anleitung zum Telefonieren
Zu einer guten Verständigung ist kein sehr lautes, wohl aber ein deutliches und nicht zu langsames Sprechen erforderlich. A weckt zunächst die Vermittlungsanstalt, indem er kurze Zeit gegen den Knopf drückt, hebt hierauf den Fernsprecher vom Haken und hält ihn mit der Schallöffnung gegen das Ohr. Die Vermittlungsanstalt antwortet: "Hier Amt, was beliebt?" A erwiedert durch den Fernsprecher d: "Wünsche mit Nummer … zu sprechen." Die Anstalt giebt zurück: "Bitte rufen" und stellt die gewünschte Verbindung her. Nachdem die Gegenmeldung Hier B, wer dort?" eingegangen ist, beginnt er endlich die Unterhaltung.

Manual for Phone
For a good understanding there is required a not very loud, but clear and not too slow speech. For this purpose A first calls up the dial switching institution by pressing or a short period (2 to 3 seconds) against the button a, hereupon lifts the telephone b off the hook c and holds the receiver to the ear. The dial switching institution says, "This is the office, can I help you?" A reciprocates by through the telephone d: "I would like to talk to number … (No. of B in the list of subscribers). "
The institution answers: "Please call" and provides the required connection. A wakes now B by pressing the button again retaining telephone b on the ear. After the countermessage „Here B, who's there?“ has been received, he begins the conversation finally.
